China Medical University Hospital is well-known for incorporating information technology (IT) infrastructure into a smart hospital system. A delegation of medical experts from Songklanagarind Hospital, the largest medical center in southern Thailand, led by Vice Dean Dr. Boonchai Wangsupadilok, made a brief visit to CMUH in Taichung. Professor Der-yang Cho, the Superintendent of CMUH, represented the hospital in welcoming the Thai delegation.
Superintendent Cho of CMUH expressed his gratitude for the visit from Songklanagarind Hospital, recognized as the premier medical center in southern Thailand. Dr. Cho is looking forward to initiating more substantial international medical cooperation in the future. The meeting was as warm as if old friends were reuniting, and both parties exchanged gifts, committing to maintain frequent communication and share clinical medical experiences.
Chief Secretary Dr. Wei-Cheng Chen first introduced the various achievements in smart healthcare at CMUH. The medical expert team at CMUH then shared further details about the Medi-Span medication safety management system, the Hospital Information System (HIS), the Intelligent Anti-Microbial System (i.A.M.S.), the Smart Heart Platform, the ARDiTeX, and the gHi system. These AI-powered medical innovations have garnered recognition from the medical community both domestically and internationally.
Vice Dean Dr. Boonchai of Songklanagarind Hospital, along with accompanying engineers and pharmacy experts, showed great interest in the medical information systems of the CMUH. During the visit, they engaged in in-depth exchanges with specialists and physicians from CMUH, sharing the medical information management models of both hospitals. They also visited the nursing station to understand the practical clinical application of the Intelligent Anti-Microbial system (i.A.M.S.) of CMUH and how Medi-Span seamlessly integrates with the hospital’s medical systems to assist the clinical team.
Vice Dean Dr. Boonchai of Songklanagarind Hospital expressed high praise for CMUH's outstanding performance in information technology engineering and artificial intelligence. He was repeatedly amazed, exclaiming, "Is it possible to achieve such customization and reduce the workload of doctors?! My colleagues, it seems you have a lot to do when you return!" Dr. Boonchai particularly acknowledged the significant improvements that CMUH’s smart healthcare has brought to patients and looked forward to leading an even larger team for another visit in the future.
